Central Tibet Tour with Everest Base Camp Itinerary

Day 01 KATHMANDU-NYALAM (3600m)-154 Km .
Departure at 5:30 hrs from Loyal Travels and Tours Thamel after an approximately 6 hour's drive we reach KODARI (China/Nepal Boarder). Further half an hour drive by truck will bring us to Zangmu, where after complete of Immigration formalities all check and drive to Nyalam. Overnight in hotel. Accommodation: Twin Sharing, Common Bath on Bed and Breakfast Basis.

Day 02 NYLAM- RONGBOK
Drive to the Rongbok via Lao Tingri from Nyalam drive with spectacular view of Mount Everest from Rongbok Monastery. Relax tonight and stroll around the monastery Max altitude 5050M Accommodation: Twin Sharing, Common Bath on Bed and Breakfast Basis.

Day 03. RONGBOK LHATSE (3950m)
Get up early and start the 03-04 hrs leisurely walk to the Everest Base camp (5200 m ) itself. You should return early and drive to Lhatse Accommodation: Twin Sharing, Common Bath on Bed and Breakfast Basis.

Day 04 LHATSE-XIGATSE /Shighatse(3900m)-210 Kms.
Lhatse is 03 hrs away over a 5220pass near the petrol station.there is a small restaurant where tea/coffee/snacks are available. Reach XIGATSE, the place of the famous TASHILUMPO MONASTERY the seat of Panchen Lama until his death in 1989 with its huge Thanka Wall veary visible on north side of the road.

Day 05 Shigatse/Xigatse -Gyantse
After a stroll though the old city we depart for the two and a half hour drive to Gyantse. While approaching the small farming town we can clearly see the old fort that was captured by Young husband during his 1904 raid into Tibet. Here the main attraction is the Kumbum monastery with its extraordinary architecture. Altitude 3900 m.

Day 06 Gyantse -Lhasa
This will be a long drive, but on the way we cross the Karo-la with the beautiful glacier, we see Yamdrok Tso which is named the Turquoise lake and cross the Kamba-la from where we descend to the main road which bring us all the way to Lhasa. Altitude 3650 m.

Day 07/08 Sightseeing around Lhasa
During these two days in Lhasa. we visit the Potala palace, Drepung and Sera Monasteries and of course the famous Jokhang temple including the surrounding Barkhor.

Day 09 Flight from Lhasa to onward journey
we have to get up very early for our transfer to Gonggor airport to catch the flight back to Kathmandu or other destination.
